Subtle Signs

Subtle signs... or maybe not so subtle. I love when the Universe shows me signs and offers me a direction to go in that I wasn't seeing clearly before. My desk lamp broke yesterday. It wasn't the light bulb because I tried several different bulbs; it was the lamp itself. Refused to work. It wouldn't light my desk--and the words I write.

You could say this happened because the lamp is four years old, but I looked for the deeper meaning of this experience. I've been working on an idea for a new book and it just wasn't working. Then I realized what was really happening and what the Universe was trying to tell me. I needed to see things in a new light, to put new ideas and fresh words into my book... to take it in an entirely different direction.

These type of messages from the Universe are often shown to us in a symbolic manner. All we have to do is clearly look at and listen to our experiences to see what they're really showing us and saying to us.
