Looking Back Before Looking Forward

As this year comes to a close, we all begin to think about what our New Year's resolutions are going to be. Most of the time we base them on regrets or past failures, thinking that this year will be different; it will be new, exciting, and wonderful. More often than not, we fall back into the same habits and routines, into the same way of thinking. Nothing really changes because we haven't changed our mind. I think it's important to look back at what we're basing our New Year's resolutions on so we can chart a positive path we'd like to travel in the new year.

Take a look at where you've been and what's happened. Look deeper into why you'd like to make changes, into where you're coming from with your feelings. Look into the thoughts that created your previous experiences. Accept whatever is in your mind and recognize why you'd like to make the changes you're contemplating. By looking back, you can look forward and employ
the positive power of your mind to create a wonderful new year.
